Control the GPX Merge Order
The order of your GPX files matters when combining them.
If you upload:
- day-1.gpx
- day-2.gpx
- day-3.gpx
the merged GPX file will follow that same order by default.
If the files are not arranged correctly, simply use the Up and Down buttons to reorder them before downloading the merged file.
This is especially useful when combining stages of a multi-day hike, cycling tour, running route, or other journey where the sequence of the tracks matters.

Before merging your files, GPX Merge Tool displays all uploaded tracks together on an interactive map.

Preserves Separate GPX Track Segments
When several GPX files are merged, GPX Merge Tool keeps the uploaded tracks as separate track segments inside the resulting GPX file.
This is important because separate GPX files do not necessarily connect directly to one another.
If two unrelated tracks were joined as one continuous stream of points, some GPX viewers could draw an artificial straight line between the end of one route and the beginning of the next.
